All the World's a Stage

Performance of traditional Chinese theater, Xi'an.  Can't for the life of me remember the story (it was one of many), but I do remember that it was beautifully staged and that the accompanying dinner involved more varieties of dumpling than I thought possible.

  1. Ah, the Tang Dynasty show...
I think that was the one about the concubine who was blamed for the fall of the Tang Dynasty? How I remember that I have no idea... I was too busy taking picturee of the awesome translation.

  2. Haha. I am impressed Darco! Agreed: those translations were by far the best part of any of these shows!

  3. Boo on you guys. There was no translation here; it was all dance and pantomime- the translations were at the Beijing Opera!

  4. There was definitely a storyline in english if not translations, I remember it distinctly because the different signs often didn't match, where the opera only had 1 translation board.
